Traditionally the bride’s parents host (pay for) the wedding, so their names are atop the invitation. More often than ever before brides and grooms pay for their own weddings, so their names top the invitation. If you choose this option, you may still honor your parents by including their names in the wording.

Jot down your initial wording in the worksheet section of this Wedding Planner & Guide. Remember, the only way to make sure your invitations are worded properly is to work with a professional stationer or invitation specialist. Visit your local stationer or printer to discuss the details and to determine what type of invitations, printing processes (engraved: letters cut into the paper; thermography: raised lettering, etc.), colors or trends will work best with your wedding plans.
