Choosing Rentals

Initial Consultation

What to Bring/Know:

  • Ceremony and reception venues
  • What your ceremony and reception venues are already providing
  • Number of guests
  • Idea of wedding style
  • Idea of color palette
  • Pictures of themes and decoration schemes you like
  • Idea of budget

What to Ask:

Should I order extras?
Round up your guest list when estimating some service items. For example, if you expect 200 guests, you should order at least 350 water glasses because each person will often go through more than one glass.

When will the rentals be delivered?
For a Saturday wedding, rentals are typically delivered Thursday or Friday – or whenever your venue is available.

Who sets up?
Find out if you, your venue’s staff, or the rental company is responsible for set up. There is often a fee to have the rental company set up, however they know precisely how things are put together and are adept at completing it in a timely, efficient manner.

What is the delivery fee?
The fee varies depending on when and where it will be delivered.

When do items need to be returned?
Typically companies need items returned the Monday following the event.

Is there a fee for broken pieces?
Find out the rate for replacing broken pieces. Another option is to purchase a damage waiver that covers accidental damage. Rates typically amount to 10% of the cost of the entire order.

Is there anything I am forgetting to order?
Your professional will go over everything you might need. Commonly forgotten items include tablecloths for the gift table and cake table, glassware, and adequate power for the photobooth, caterer, and band.
